I am sixty-six. Only one more year to go before someone will start taking care of me. I wonder how “society” will do it. I hope it will not be something in the soylent green manner.

My 40's were my prime thinking about this. I was vibrant and active, still dancing and exercising and working and daughter was pretty grown and tubes were tied.

You don't say how old you are, but this is pretty sad. If you are still working, and hate it so much, find another line of work that you enjoy, or at least with a group of people who make you laugh. And don't expect society to take care of you. If you don't work and pay into Social Security, you won't get much out of it at 67. And what you will get out of Social Security won't be enough to live on, so you have to save and invest on your own.
