This is a bizarre thread, but kind of entertaining. I shower twice a week, but I have to say...my wife loves my natural smell, and I love her natural smell. That's one reason we've been together over 40 years. It works for us!

Wow. You sound like an absolute treasure to be around. Maybe for some unforeseen reason you need 2-3 showers a day. I can assure you that I smell like a rose with far less than that. Not to mention the fact how wasteful-water and energy wise-this practice would be.

IMHO it's unreasonable to characterize someone as "dirty" simply because they don't shower as many times per day as you choose to -- which is the impression I am getting from your posts, i.e., that bathing or showering less than two or three times a day is insufficient to qualify as being a "clean person" in your estimation.

Or am I misunderstanding that?
No - I feel/think that every human needs to bathe daily. I didn't make this up. When you are in the hospital, they used to bathe you daily - now, not so much, because hospitals have gone down hill.

But it was important at one time.

And the spread of disease was positively impacted when doctors started washing their hands.

There is good reason for keeping oneself clean.

I think if a person deliberately does not bathe that either they have mental health issues, or are lazy (generally). If a person has dementia, then they can't help it (or any other severe physical disability) - otherwise, it is pure laziness (in my book).

And I understand there are two camps.

I am in the "clean" camp and happy to be in that camp.

I believe bathing is not only practical, but a sacred, healing ritual. It is very pleasurable. I love it. The Egyptians were also apparently fond of it, as were the Grecians and Romans.

I second. A lot of stupid polls and threads.

I usually shave and shower 2-3 times a week in the Winter. In the Summer sometimes every day depending on what I have been doing but at least every other day.

My young lady friend and I see each other once week or maybe 3 times in two weeks. As she is a single Mom and has to be home when the kids get off the bus, we primarily do day dates. We have established a bit of a routine. We go to breakfast then back to my place for Mimosas and we often shower together. She showers alone as I shave, then I join her. My shower is humongous and has a wooden bench in it so one can sit and relax while the other showers before the fun begins. We do so enjoy the mutual showers.

Save water. Shower together.
