Anyone ever think back on your first girl or boy friend? I was head-over-heels in love with my GF when I graduated from high school. We went our separate ways with college but I never forgot her and still have her picture in a box somewhere in a closet. Not sure why, I never look at it but I can't bring myself to toss it out either.

My 50 year high school reunion is coming up and I thought of going, to see if I run into her but then thought, naw, I like the memory more and want to leave it at that. So I won't go to the reunion (it is 2000 miles away anyway). But that young romance had an impact on me that has stuck with me.

Anyone else?

I was just thinking about this; how funny. In a "what if" sort of way. I dated a scion of one of the founding families of Orange County, CA---the one that started South Coast Plaza and had all the farm fields. He introduced me to Heineken, his family and their place on Balboa Island where we boated around the Parade of Lights. We were both 100% Swedish.

Then he went off to join a commune in Oregon, but left me with a souvenir burlap bag of dried lima beans, the family's main crop back in the day, LOL.

There's a "what if" for ya.

If I had married my first love, I'd probably be living in Venezuela now. He was an exchange student from Caracas, and one of the reasons we broke up was Caracas was where he wanted to live. So whenever I think back on him I'm so glad I dodged that bullet.

Another love ended up making a major change in his life and got a job as an assistant music director for a catholic church in Houston. Quite a change from the banking career he envisioned. I'm kind of glad things didn't work out with him, either.

I do see another old boyfriend from time to time. He married a very nice girl and coincidentally they moved not far from where I live now. They have a distinctive name, and I happen to run into them on FB. We get together every once in awhile, and it's kind of fun. The first time I was worried there might be residual feelings, but actually that wasn't the case at all. They're nice people and there are no unresolved issues at all.

I married mine. Took him to my high school senior prom. In October, we'll be married 46 years. Life is good.

About 20 years ago, I ran into my high school boyfriend when I was visiting the old home town, where my parents still lived. We hadn't seen one another since the mid-60's. We were both very happy to see each other, and he invited me to have lunch with him the next day. The lunch was really nice -- we talked for hours, and then he took me to visit his sister, with whom I had been sort-of-friends in high school. It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

I never saw him again. He died a few years later, of problems arising from Agent Orange exposure when he was in Viet Nam. He was only in his early 40's.

I'd like to know that too, before answering. :-)

First kiss? First actual date? First "official going steady"? First base? ;-) First, um, 'sleepover'?
