I posted in a thread here yesterday that my S-I-L is talking about moving out of her apartment to buy a mobile home. Per her initial research the monthly payment on the home, plus lot rent, plus utilities, will be less than her current rent. Her difference may be a couple hundred per month.

She lived in this same apartment when she was accepted in the SSDI program,.

Is it likely her monthly SSDI payment will be recalculated downward following this move to slightly less costly housing?

No. Her SSDI payment is her payment regardless of her expenses. It is calculated on her and her employer's SS contributions while she was working.

Thank you!
I will let my wife know as she was telling/encouraging/recommeding to her sister to research EVERYTHING before making what sounds to be the best idea her sister has ever had.
