Anyone been to Kings Dominion in Richmond, Va. lately? Thinking about taking a day trip. Is it worth the trip and admission price?

I haven't been lately, but I think it's worth the trip. I got discounted tickets through NCSECU for Carowinds. Not sure if you are a member or know a member but adult tickets are only $35 and normally they are almost $60.

We live in MD and go to KD- it's about a 2 hour ride one way for us. Worth the trip! It's usually clean, decent crowds but lines aren't horrendous. A little something for everyone! Discount tickets/coupons can usually be found online fairly easily.

One factor would be where you're coming from and how far and how long it will take you to get there.

It's a pretty good park, though - lots of good rides. But my family likes Busch Gardens better - it's cleaner and prettier and extremely well-run.

The more "family-oriented" park has been Busch Gardens. However, Kings Dominion, IMO, has way better rides. It is worth it. After 4PM or something, the tickets are half off. But it is worth it for the day. Online, I think they have the pay once go twice deal. So for $60 you can go twice (if you go once, so be it). But you'll like it! I enjoy it, I go every year.
