Hello,
I want to first thank everyone in advance for their responses!! So i will make this very brief,
I am a 20 something year old, black, single, female, with no kids and who has no family in the Richmond area, I am moving from Ohio and dont no what to expect, I am very adament about moving to this city although their were other options. I am escaping a abusive relationship and i will be coming there empty handed. I will be moving next month (Jan. 07) and i need as much input as i can get! I have been reading the differences in everyones opinion and i have mixed feelings.
I guess im like everyone else, I really need to know what areas i definitely should NOT move to, and what to expect the cost of living to be the "nice" areas. I also have not read anything on the nite life. please, please,PLEASE give your honest inputs. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN!!

I live in the West End of richmond, everything is nearby and most of the apts/houses in this area are very nice and can be somewhat expensive. My place is about $750 for a roomy one bedroom.

Lakeside area which is eastern henrico is a bit less expensive than west end and extremely convenient. It's got kind of a town-ish feeling. You could rent a house or look for apts. Zip code is 23228. Try real estate sites.
Another nice area is northside- 23227- but more expensive. The fan is always good for young, single people, but crime is a little higher. It's a really nice area though and definitely worth looking at. Lots of VCU students and ex-students.
