My policy renewal came yesterday from Metlife and it is up about 25% from last year. They have the replacement cost of my house at about $150/sq. foot (house is a 15 year old Boone home) which seems very high. Anyway, I think policy creep is pretty typical so I would like to shop this around. Any ideas on who to use? I actually have called Geico and they were pretty close to Metlife's number.

If your Auto Insurance has a share program, try that. If not try Travellers.

I work for an independent agency here in town. If you want I can run a quote Monday morning and see what your options are. Try 804-272-7700 and ask for Sarah. Good luck!

Check with Liberty Mutual in Midlothian. Ask for Stephanie at 804-379-9246. We have gotten great service from them. My neighbor uses her too and that's how we hooked up with her.

Thanks for the recommendations. I tried Liberty Mutual in Midlothian but couldn't get through to Stephanie. I ended up remembering I had a discount through my alumni association for Liberty Mutual and called the 800 number and they saved me about $300 over Metlife on auto and home.

I will say figuring out the replacement cost of the house is confusing to say the least. Metlife was saying it was almost $150/sq. ft. and Liberty Mutual was saying closer to $100. That's a huge difference and I neither want over-insure nor under-insure my home.

Glad it worked for you. I get a discount for being a Tech alumni also, and lots of my clients have gone with them too. Often better rates than USAA.
