Just out of curiosity: do you complain while doing a crossword puzzle?

More (much more) than half of the traffic on this forum is not serious problem solution discussion. We have a lot of pleasant, but frivolous, stuff in between the serious posts.

You may be better off with a signal cannon due to range.

If you believe that you have some sort of evidence that I am dishonest, then by all means, share. . .

Well, at least we are getting closer to realization that this thread can't be taken seriously, it's just frivolous and fun.

I am in favor of frivolity. It serves as a stress escape hatch.

Tamara never commented on my battery backup for the garage door opener comment. Or the GPS locator (unfortunately you do need to pay for a service to get that going).

Tamara, upthread I believe you said you're not interested in advice how to redesign your home. Even so, you may want to consider changing the porch door knob to a handle deadbolt that can only be locked manually from the inside, or with a key from the outside, despite your experience with the deadbolt when you were renting. When we put external doors in our North Idaho cabin, including a balcony door, we went with deadbolts for all of them so we couldn't lock ourselves out by accident, especially the balcony door! A gust of wind, and bam! You're standing on your 2nd floor balcony with your cup of coffee, in a bathrobe and slippers, and the door is locked. No thanks.
But the danger is if you come home to a locked house and find that you've lost your key, of course. So an outside hiding place for a key is important.

If I were to create a box with emergency gear, I'd do the same as in the car: Boots, sweater, plastic rain coat, flashlight.

Because it sounded like a good notion for consideration and I saw no reason to comment further on it.
