My husband may be applying for a new job in McMinnville, Oregon and, after looking around online, we kind of like the Sheridan area. We live in Colorado currently but due to my health, we need a lower elevation and warmer climate. Is it cold and damp there a lot? Is there anything we should know about the area? Do people like it, crime, etc? We're in our early 50's so we're past the bar stage. Pretty content to be at home or attend daytime celebration type stuff. Any info would be very helpful!

It's in western Oregon, so yes it's damp, and the temperature is generally in the 30s-50s for more than half the year.

Thanks Steve. I noticed there were several prison type facilities around. From what I found out on my own, about the crime, it seemed to be pretty low.
