Putting this out there for anyone that knows what needs to be done to obtain this license in Texas? Any information on fees and insurance requirements would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I don't think there is a license required.

All other State license and registration requirements are regulated here: Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation

There is no longer a Texas State license for this since the demise of The Texas Residential Construction Commission. However, you need to check with any of the cities or counties you will be performing work in. Many of these are requiring a registration before you perform work in their jurisdictions.

We are a commercial GC and have to be registered with San Antonio but no actual licence requirements. Cannot specifically say anything about residental but the city could answer your question.
I don't believe it is necessary.

All subcontractors must be licensed. (elect. plumbing HVAC)

You will need to take a licensing exam for Contractors in Texas. But there are online providers who offer courses where you can take an exam anywhere you want at your preferred time. They will also guide you in different phase of the exam through their "Instructor-connect program".

Is this for a residential license?
