Was bussed up from Corpus Christi when I joined the Air Force in 1955 and was put up in the YMCA overnight before processing. I remember it was close to downtown San Antonio and had a small bowling Alley among other things. Wondering if anyone remembers and might have a picture and their own story.

If it was in a very large Quonset hut building it was likely at 211 W. Drexel east of downtown. It's still there...Boy's Club might have been it.

Street view

You will need to adjust that view on street view. St Gerard's school on New Braunfels had a small bowling alley. Herman Sons Lodge on St Mary's downtown has bowling alleys. If it was a specific use building by YMCA then I can't recall any.
