Hello fellow SA CD-ers!

Need some ideas for my big 4-0 party. I need a restaurant for about 20 people, preferably with a dance floor, with catering. I'm open for all ideas.

What kind of venue are you looking for? Country western? Modern? Jazz? Formal/relaxed? There are numerous places, you just need to be a bit more specific with your request.

Also, and early 'happy birthday' to ya! I turned the big 5-0 a few weeks ago, but I quit having celebrations to mark such events!

Cheers! M2

thanks majormadmax! Happy Birthday to you! I'm forcing myself to have this party, actually. I would rather deny "getting older" and wallow at home instead. Since I turn 40 only once...this must be done.

Anything is good...a Jazzy place sounds fun to me. Formal or relaxed. Just seeking out suggestions.

I had my 40th a few years ago at Leon Springs Grill. I only did a happy hour gathering but it was great and we did it during HH so discount drinks and food.

Also, a place you could check out is the Bubble Room. It is very laid back and also has music in the evening. They don't have a private room but if you have a large party I bet they would reserve an area for you. If you get there early an enough I don't think they get a large crowd.

Gazing back through the mists of time to my 40th birthday, lo these many years ago (8!), I recall that we celebrated at Rosario's. There were 20 or 25 of us; they just set us up at big tables in their back room, provided two servers, and let us have at it. If I recall (again, in ye olde days of yore), we made our own dance floor!

Check out Wayne's Martini Club. It's not a restaurant though. Wayne is super talented and the place is always a lot of fun. People of all ages; we're in our early 30s and love it!

El Jarro Mexican restaurant on bitters and 281 has a dance floor with dancing music on the weekends.

Also may want to look into Tycoon Flats; they have live music, various days though
