Just wanted to see how many people have done it and what their experiences were like. I've been wanting to get away and do some things on my own that i normally would not do. Also, if anyone does it, what are the best places in town to hit up solo?

I'm not looking to hook up with anyone, just somewhere to get away by myself and have a few drinks without looking weird.

I see nothing wrong with it, to me it is just like going to a movie alone which I have done in the past.

What part of town are you in? (major crossroads & zip would be helpful)

I've done it often when travelling and also in town when I want to get away. Because I live in Southtown and would rather walk, I'd go to Friendly Spot. The only problem is that I'm likely to run into friends so if my goal is to get away, that doesn't work ;-) Other options Blue Star, the newly opened Halcyon, J&B (I think), and I'm sure there's more I can't think of right now.

OK I have done this many times. I am a happy hour girl and sometimes I just need to stop in a place for a drink when I leave work just to chill. I just belly up to the bar, take a seat and if I want to talk to anyone whoever sits next to me will be the lucky person. No I am not shy. So I go to happy hour locations alone, with my girlfriends and with my husband. Just depends on the mood I am in.

Places I go ... Happy Hour spots on the northside which include WildFish, Drews, Roaring Fork (before closing), or anywhere that I feel like going.

I have always done this as well as go to the movies alone since my husband at times did not want to the chick flick I wanted to go to so he would golf and I would go to the movies on Saturday morning. Both of us are happy.

I've done it many times. Had one old guy at a Carabbas make a snarky remark- "She looks like she's tryin' to pick somebody up." (This was in another state. I was dressed conservatively and was meeting a girlfriend. He was just drunk.) That did make me feel a little insecure at the time, but now I just laugh.

Haven't gone out to a bar here alone here yet, unless the rodeo bar counts. Have to do something while he's deployed, and that's how I met him anyway!

If you really wanna drink alone grab your favorite beverage and chill at home. It'll save you some money and if you were planning on driving to the bar you won't be drinking and driving.
