Looking to join our local (Mays) Y, either as an individual, or, possibly as a family. I've been wanting to find a place for yoga and Zumba, and their location and hours seem right for me.

Looking to know membership costs in advance, if anyone can help out? I would assume that the Y does not play pricing games as much as the "name brand" gyms do?

I want to say that the regular family price is apx. $80 a month... So roughly $950 a year... I don't know if all YMCA's have the same price or not but this was the price at the Boerne YMCA...

My husband works for the City of SA so our discount was huge, we pay what equates to $1 a day, $360 for the family for the year... We had to pay it all up front because of the discount

Make sure to see if the Y offers a discount thru your employer

Y also offers financial help if needed.

No pricing games - you should be able to call and get info over the phone, and you can get a 3 day trial too.

Hadn't thought of an employer discount...we both work for major employers in SA, so hopefully that could help.

Forgot to mention that the price I "quoted" was for choosing to utilize only 1 YMCA as opposed to utilizing all YMCA's ...

It does cost more if you want to go to multiple locations...

I have medical insurance program which works with the Y & receive very good rates & able to go to any
location.

This intrigued me because I am looking to go to the gym on my lunch hour here in Boerne. I called them and I was quoted $50/month single and family for $78/month. Maybe I was quoted the multiple location price. Is there any kind of leeway with the pricing or are they firm?

That sounds about right to me... The family price for us to utilize 1 location was apx $80 before our employer discount... $50 a month sounds like the single rate/1 location price... I'm not sure about leeway... You can always call them and ask what kind of discounts they offer...
