I figured a move was coming sometime in the next couple years. I don't think the Rim is the best fit location wise - just out of the way for a lot of folks. But it's Cowboy Breakfast - they will still come.

Macy's at Northstar is already being remodeled into JCPenney, and their is no vacant parking lot at north star. I don't agree with the Rim move, I always thought moving it too the vacant parking lots at Windsor Park would be a better move. They all ready have had it at Cowboys, a move to Windsor Park wouldn't have been too much of a stretch.

The Rim probably paid alot of money to get it. I understand that Bass will have all day activities after the breakfast. It's a marketing thing for Bass Pro Shops.
Windsor Park has no money to pay to get it there. $$$$$ speaks

Rumor is that Windsor Park Mall is going to be the new Rackspace Headquarters within the next year or so.

Rackspace owns the old Montgomery Wards building, but looking at the BCAD website it looks like they have given a special warranty deed to The City of Windcrest Economic Development Corporation.

The concept of the “cowboy breakfast” entailed San Antonio residents stopping by on the way to their jobs, to get a hot breakfast in celebration of the start of the rodeo. I went to the breakfast when it was held at Crossroads Mall the past four years and was always amazed at the diversity of people that showed for the breakfast. It was a friendly and peaceful event. The average person within walking or bus line distance was able to attend. The choice for the location of this year’s breakfast is too far out for the average man/woman, it is restricted for individuals from the high income bracket whose homes are within close proximity of the Bass Pro Shops. It's unfortunate that the theme is no longer one of all San Antonians sharing in the celebration, but instead a marketing opportunity and tool for the “rich” to get richer.

Who in their right mind would put an event that large in an area with so many traffic problems and the worst drivers in the state?
