(Yes, I've checked the sticky and tried a search as well.)

Will be looking to purchase a home, as a first-time home buyer with excellent credit, likely within the next year. Curious to see where people go to finance their homes.

Thank you.

Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union - they don't sell the notes, and are local!

USAA, but they did immediately turn around and sell the note. The note then got sold again 6 months later by the new company. No problems just a long paper trail.

Orinally went through the Texas Veteran Land Board and then when the rates were super low we refinanced with USAA to a 15 year mortgage. Had a great experience with both.

We used USAA for our home. They did, however, sell the note after we refinanced with them years later. We have not had any problems, and our paperwork is still accessed through USAA. I would recommend them.

I also have a building loan (separate property) with Randolph-Brooks FCU, and I highly recommend them.

I don't think I'd ever originate a mortgage with a big bank, but Wells Fargo bought a mortgage we originated with Quicken (Prime Lending) and we never had any issues with them. They also managed to not make a complete mess of the escrow account, which I can't say for either Cenlar or PennyMac who have both serviced our current note.
