I am looking for some good sights to take family photos. I know of some parks and locations but would like to see what all you would recommend. The parks are a no brainer, but what about some rustic locations, any good buildings as a backdrop, and what about locations with some color?

San Antonio Missions, especially Mission San Jose. I also like the JW Marriott, they have some really nice outdoor gardens. Japanese Tea Gardens and San Antonio Botanical Garden as well.

not rustic but the grounds on the McNay are beautiful. I'd also go downtown to the streets off the main streets for old signage, old stores, etc.

Chris Park, the Japanese Tea Gardens (probably relatively crowded these days but so beautiful) and the Missions.

La Villita downtown by the San Antonio River.

There’s some old houses still standing.
I made this oil-canvas of one.

I took some liberties & added the Alamo in the background. But you get the picture!
Have fun !

The McNay charges a fee to take portrait photos on its grounds.

Default Rancho,

Rancho, this is a great painting. Enjoyed looking at it. You are an artist alright and not just with a camera.Do you have any more?
