1) check weather patterns / winds aloft
2) stay out of the main stream air patterns
3) find a place with abundant water, food, and sealife, and far away as reasonable (moderate climate) (Antarctica is not reasonable)

San Antonio does not score well for above criteria.

It doesn't just have to be war with Russia but war with any nuclear power. Things have been hot with China and NK as well. Although, one Nuke launch from NK would probably be all they can get out before they are neutralized. Its China and Russia that are more worrisome.

The world is getting more and more populated. Science (and common sense) has shown that when you increase numbers of people you increase altercations. Especially when more and more people live in close proximity to each other. The world is getting to be a much smaller place year by year. Just a few years ago, the world population just surpassed 7 billion. Currently, upon typing this, we are almost hallway to 8 billion. Here is a counter for you showing this: World Population Clock Live - Population of the World Today - The World Counts

With this alarming growth in human population, the Worlds resources are being used at an alarming rate. At a rate that is faster then we can replace them. This in includes life necessities such as access to clean water and other life necessary things. Quietly, August 8th, 2016 was "Earth overshoot day" and it passed without much mention of it in the media. As of August 8th of this year, we humans have used as much from nature in 2016 as our planet can renew in a whole year. Earth Overshoot Day Arrives Earlier Than Ever – National Geographic Society (blogs)

With humans (both governments and individual people) jockeying for land, resources and power and with this only to intensify given the math, confrontation it seems is inevitable. Just a matter of time. There is nothing wrong with being reasonably prepared if we and our families have the unfortunate fate of surviving something catastrophic. Hence the point of this thread.

1. It hasn't really been answered yet but does anyone know of any underground things here in San Antonio?
2. Given the World stage of increasing violence and threats both here and abroad, is this something that has been brought up with leadership? Not just with SA leadership but Texas and/or national leadership?
3. What would be some supplies that you have already gotten should something like this break out and we had the unfortunate fate of surviving it?

San Antonio a target? From a strategic standpoint, S A is low on the list. The earlier reasons offered made sense during WW2 and the Cold War, but no longer apply. The obvious targets of a nuclear attack are the "control centers", none located in TX.

As Basse Bud said, nuke targets are, first and foremost, command and control centers and nuke assembly/storage sites. While US Army South is in San Antonio, it's not a high priority target (it would be secondary, I'd think). The high priorities would be Washington, DC, the Pentagon in particular, followed by USNORTHCOM, Pantex in Amarillo, and others around the country.
