I noticed that suddenly this has become San Antonio's entertainment district so to speak. Fiesta Texas has been there for years but recently other fun destinations such as Bass Pro Shop,a bowling alley the Palladium movie theater and even more recently , I-Fly indoor sky diving, Top Golf and Andretti's Indoor Go Karting and Games have popped up not to mention the golf course and all the shopping in the area.

Do you go to this area often or do you keep away from the crowds?

Saturday at the rim can be terrible due to traffic. They really need to get a handle on the road system. Hopefully once it nears build out it will be better.

That said, the area has more than enough to keep a tourist or local busy. I have often used your phrase, “Entertainment District”.

And there is still a lot more land to develop on there. I heard USAA owns a lot of the land, more specifically around the La Cantera area. Traffic will continue to be a nightmare around there.

"Back in my day it was a rock quarry."- old lady who has been in SA since the 80s.

I don't think this is "sudden." It's been growing since Fiesta Texas opened in the early 90s. For sure things have built up since the 2010s but it's not "sudden." WIth the changes to the Dominion exit it's helped this area grow even more.

We like it - it's super convenient to our neighborhood and we love the variety of shops and restaurants. We usually visit The Rim on weekdays to avoid the weekend traffic.

The IH-10 and 1604 intersection is a dangerous one. When traffic stops due to congestion, it becomes a magnet for rear end collisions. It will only get worse.

It will change. They are going to build a fully directional interchange when they make 1604 4-5 lanes. Hell starts in 2020.

Given the glacial pace of construction in San Antonio, that will take forever. Borgfeld Road seems frozen in place for months now. I see little progress week after week.

Someone makes money on slow construction in town.

It would make to leave some streets as they are and get all the equipment to one big project and work hell bent for leather to get it done, rather than dribbling a little bit at a time on many projects.
