Lulu's Cafe (now closed) offered its famous 3-pound cinnamon rolls day and night, 24 hours a day, for more than 20 years. Yes, you read that, right: these supersize cinnamon rolls weighed 3 pounds. And you could get one at any hour of the day. This sounds like all of our childhood dreams come true. It has been featured on many TV shows including Man versus Food.
You still can buy it, though. Thanks to the son of Lulu, Mike Behrend. His mom’s famous 3-pound cinnamon rolls are now available at his other restaurant, Green Vegetarian Cuisine.

Another San Antonio restaurant that has been featured on TV is Big Lou's Pizza. They are famous for their 62-inch pizza. It is absolutely enormous.

Another restaurant that was featured on TV was the Tip Top Cafe on Fredricksburg Dr. A Family-Owned Business Since 1938.
The Tip Top Cafe has remained almost unchanged for over 83 years. Guy Fieri couldn't stop eating the open-faced roast pork and gravy sandwich, the beef enchiladas, and the buttery fried shrimp.

Other interesting facts:

San Pedro Park is the oldest park in Texas and the second-oldest in the nation. It officially became a public park in 1852.

The San Antonio Zoo:
This 35-acre zoo has over 3,500 animals and an aquarium. It’s the 3rd largest zoo in the nation and it breeds a number of endangered species, including leopards, African lions, and Komodo dragons.

Fiesta San Antonio is the city’s biggest and most attended festival. It happens every April and has done so since 1891

El Mercado’s shopping district is the largest Mexican market in the US. It’s a three-block outdoor plaza filled with a combination of 100 restaurants, shops, handicrafts and fresh produce stands. The shopping district also.

Fact # 2,367 - There is no basement in the Alamo, regardless of what Pee-wee's Big Adventure would have you believe.

Robert E Lee stayed at “the Argyle” which is still standing in Alamo heights. Is it the oldest house still standing in town? Does anybody know?
