It was April 1, 1994. I was driving to work in the morning. I was not a morning person by nature, so I was never really in a good mood to begin with. I had just picked up breakfast at a fast food restaurant and for the next 20 minutes (on a morning talk show radio station) I heard the most incredibly story...

The Dallas Cowboys had just finished another Superbowl, and they were in their height of popularity that occurred in the 90's. Through associations with recently elected Bill Clinton (from Arkansas), a team representative's association with Oklahoma, hands had been shaken and final decisions had been made concerning the re-naming of the Dallas Cowboys to the Ark-Lahoma PigSheep. Governors were involved. There was no way to protest at this point. It was a done deal. The fans could do nothing.

I walked into my office and found my female manager talking about this horrendous story. Her eyes were livid with anger. Apparently she and some other women from the office had been also talking about it in the breakroom shortly before work.

About an hour later I realized it was April 1st, or April Fool's Day. I spent the next 30 minutes trying to convince my manager that it had all been a joke.

It sounds absurd, but I'm sure that it fooled a lot of people at the time.

I used to live in Arkansas. One time, I saw news story about some event that happened in Texarkana. The guy they interviewed said he was from "Texarkana - on the border of Texa and Arkana."

This is no joke.
