A while back some friend's of mine shared with me some banana leaf wrapped tamales that had such a distinct taste that ive been wanting more for a long time. However they didnt say where they got them so... Does anyone know any places in town that make and sell these?

I don't know anywhere in SA, but around Christmas time my friend got some from a place in Seguin that were amazing. I have no idea where, but it's a small town, surely someone knows what I'm talking about?

Salvadorians usually wrap their tamales in banana leaf. I'm not aware of any Salvadorian restaurants in town... but it could be out there!

Banana leaf-wrapped "tamales" sounds like they were actually "pasteles" which are common in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Try some of the Puerto Rican places here in town, like La Marginal on Nacogdoches Rd. I'm sure they'll have what you're looking for.
