Hello! We recently moved from CA, and don't have medical insurance set up yet. My daughter just turned 6 mos old. I have the info re. getting free/low cost immunizations. But my question is this:
Is it really important that she see a ped. for a 6 month check up? We have no concerns at this time. What would the ped. do besides measure height/weight?
If we don't have any health concerns, and she gets her shots at one of the immunization clinics, is it OK to skip the 6 month check up? As soon as our new benefits are set up, I'll schedule a check-up, but that might take a few months...

Any Drs or moms out there with advice? TIA!!

I'm not that kind of a doctor but I'm a mom and I work in healthcare...

My personal opinion is that if you have no health concerns at all, it won't hurt to delay the check up for a few months when your insurance kicks in. Definitely, however, get the vaccinations now
