I loved their music back in the day, but then they started talking... and their new stuff just isn't what it used to be.

Dug them for the 1039/Kerplunk/Dookie albums. Maybe a couple after that. But, once an artist forgets they're a band and starts thinking they're going to get political and change the world, they start to lose me.

Exactly. Just shut your pie hole and sing.

Just got around to posting about this concert, it's been crazy at the mojo household!

THIS SHOW WAS AMAZING! I don't care if you are a Green Day fan or not, they put on one fantastic show. I would venture to say that it was one of the best concerts I've been to, and I've been to a lot. They weren't doing this just for the money, they were doing this show for their fans too. You could tell by the way Billie Joe went out into the audience, pulled about 10 fans or so on stage, had one guy play a pantera song on guitar, talked to the crowd, and played for an amazingly long time! After a 30 song setlist, 2 encores, and I believe a 2 1/2 hour show, a lot of fire and explosions, we left at 11:30! Yes, very political, but at least they stick to their "punk" agenda. I think with dookie and albums like that (VERY good, don't get me wrong) people lost site that they were going for the punk genre, not pop. Though, we could argue that they sold out in that relm. I was just like the rest of you. I loved Green Day back in the day, but got lost when they started with the "agenda" that they started. This concert changed that for me and I started to understand them better. I had lost site of them too and they made me a fan again. Ah well, heck of a show, I would go back again and again to see them!

Now, if only I could say the same about Metallica in a few weeks!
