because the ones i buy at home depot or lowes, regardless of price, tend to be garbage right out of the box or break within the first year.

Hunter Originals are the only good quality ceiling fans I know of!!! Far more efficient and long lasting than any others by any name.

I second that! All of our ceiling fans are Hunters. I ordered the ones I wanted from Stevens because HD and Lowes didn't carry the kind I liked and for some reason, I couldn't order them, either! Go figure...
