I thought it was only Arizona that didn't, but I guess there are others...

Most areas of the United States currently observe daylight saving time, with the exceptions being the states of Arizona and Hawaii along with the territories of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

A chunk of Indiana didn't used to change time, but apparently they do now.

Crazy Indianians.

I enjoy the extra hour of sleep, but I hate the hibernation mode I fall into starting...tomorrow. I hate it getting dark at 5 or 5:30. I just want to eat comfort food and go to bed.

Shane & Ozzy: is there any explanation why are you changing the time exactly at 2 AM ??? In end effect it does not matter if you do it before you go to bed, exactly at 2 AM or after you get up the next day. I change the time before I go to bed. The next morning my clock and your clock will show exact the same time
Some rules can be modified for own comfort. This one surely can be managed using common sense.

wCat: I hope so. But some people live strict by the rules. In fact, I know few who change the time exact at 2 AM

BTW: IMHO the daylight saving cause more chaos than do actual energy savings. I think that whatever we save in the morning we will use in the evening...

AZ did not ALWAYS have year-round DST in effect. When Carter was in office, he mandated states to extend DST (I forget how long the mandated time period was), and Arizona opted to remain on DST year round after this.
The mandate by Carter was in response to a debilitating energy crisis.
We had to line up at gas stations at NIGHT to be sure we had a place in line to get gasoline the next morning.

I had a friend who was out of work and he started a little business, offering to have people's cars gassed while they were working; he would take the cars and wait in line for fillups. Obviously he didn't make a fortune, but he had been out of work and was able to bill about 13 or more hours per day for this service.

Several other countries observe daylight savings time... particularly in Latin America and Europe. They just change their times around on different dates than we do in the US. And no, I will never forget an extra hour of sleep!
