There is not one best hospital, it depends on what you are being hospitalized for. Methodist Children's Hospital is the best for kids. I think St. Lukes is the best for maternity. The Heart Hospital is the best for cardiac care. You'll need to find a doctor you like and then get recommendations from her/him. My doctor recommends St. Lukes.

If you want the name of the best pediatrician in SA, DM me. When we had our daughter at santa Rosa downtown the nurses reccomended her. I value nurses opinions over DRs. She is sooo nice and doesn't order unnecessary tests ie blood Xray on our 18 month old

Thanks for the clarification everyone. I guess I'm wondering if there was an accident and you had to get to a hospital quickly where you all would go (assuming you had time to go to the hospital of your choice).

In an emergency...hands down...University Hospital. They are staffed with amazing physicians who are professors at UTHSCSA and their nursing staff is top notch. University is limited to physicians from UTHSCSA...so you will always be treated by the best of the best there.
