I regret coming to this city. I just bought my first home here in San Bernardino and instead of being happy im miserable here. Its not the heat its just that their is nothing to do over here and no jobs.i been here 3 weeks been applying even since before i came and NOTHING!! Im coming from Los Angeles \ East L.A.. I came over here thinking ima give my kids a better life but this city has nothing to offer us. I see alot of homelessness, the majority are Homeless and prostitutes. I see young adults and all they do is smoke weed and offer to rake or paint our house. They have no future. They look like hillbillies but hispanic ones. For one... the highschool here Sbh is bad. The area looks like South Central starting from highland n E st. Alot of homeless blacks. On mondays kids start school late, at 9:45 am Why?..idk?!?! I feel thats just giving kids a chance to be lazy. People over here are full of tattoos. Everywhere i go i see people with a bunch of tattoos like Wal-Mart, HomeDepot, Mcdonalds, Arco, circle K.. Its pathetic. I think people on this sode Idolize the L.A. lifestyle but is not like that. Los Angrles is a fast paced city we are on the go 24-7 doing things. Here is so slow. I feel lile they are behind and everyone here lack of character. They have no charisma no sense of humor. They are dried people. I really cant wait to sell my house once i have enough equity. I really want to leave already n not raise my kids on this side.Biggest mistake i have even done in my life. Cant wait to get back to my city L.A.

It takes 3 months on average to find a job and people in LA also have tattoos. San Bern is very depressed economically so I can understand the other complaints. It's too bad your so unhappy and you bought there. Maybe check out Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula those are nicer areas. Good luck

Yes they have tattoos but over here its worst. I dont know why it stands out more over here to me.
Why is it so depressed economically.. Something has to be done.. The mayor needs to do something about this problem. Cant nobody see whats really going on here. Will look into a better place once i sell. For now gotta stick to this city.. Thanks!

I think with housing prices as they are, San Berdoo will get rejuvenated. It needs it. Decent hard working families could turn it around.

I moved from Pomona to SB back in 2002 because Los Angeles County got a bit expensive for me. The commute to Pomona isn't the best, but I have to deal with it.

It will get restored, it just going to take some time. I'm sure there have been other cities with a similar situation in the past. These things aren't permanent.

The new Loma Linda University Medical Center extension, the 2nd Amazon.com Warehouse, & the Metrolink extension should help somehow.

So...did you do like zero research before putting down for what tends to be the biggest purchase in one's life?

The crime, the job markets, etc...it's not like that was a secret.

crime is everywhere. I researched the area wich is not bad. I have options. I can stay home for now but eventually i have to get back to work. Yes it is a big accomplishment in ones life im only 35 yrs old and im a home owner. Its just that i thought it was a decent city but its full of crackheads everywhere. Even here where my home is they pass bye but luckily i also own a gun.

You probably won't be able to come back to L.A. County unless you're willing to rent in a very bad area. And then, really, why bother?

Best thing you could do is move to Phoenix or Las Vegas. There are plenty of jobs in both of those cities and relatively decent homes in better and newer neighborhoods than what San Bernardino has to offer.

Many people who can't make it in California go over to Las Vegas and find employment in the casino/resort industry and find newer homes and apartments to live in.

I am interested to know how the OP purchased a home without a job? Did you pay all cash or something?

You noticed that too, huh? There's a lot about the original post that doesn't pass the smell test!

I also try really hard not to be a "Grammar/Spelling Nazi" either, but I've got to admit, this one has me "chomping at the bit" ...
