Hi,

I am considering renting a place near the coast in sunset cliffs, but I work in Sorrento Valley. Mapquest is telling me its a 22 minute commute but I am going to be driving rush hour times 7:30am and 6:00pm M-F. So I am guessing it will be longer than that.

I am really hoping to saty at around 30-35 minutes max. drive. Is this realistic or am I dreaming?

Thanks,
Joe

We used to rent a house in Sunset Cliffs and my wife's office is in Sorrento Valley. When she left the house @ 7am, her typical commute time was 35-40 mins.

Btw... Sunset Cliffs is a great place to live. Nice sunsets, very safe, and OB has lots of fun bars and restaurants.

Yeah it seems like a great place. I am just trying to avoid a long commute, I left LA to get away from that nonsense. I've done much worse commutes for the past 15 years so I'm over it.

The commute is nothing compared to LA. You'll get to know the hot spots and will plan accordingly. Are you planning on 5->sorrento valley or 8->163->805->sorrento valley? 35 minutes is reasonable.
