I have fought gum disease for 20 years. Now my teeth are failing due to aggressive gum disease despite going to dental schools, dentists, and periodontists all these years as well as doing everything I can to assure good oral hygiene. I love my current periodontist but I know I can't afford him. I am in despair right now because although I have saved up thousands of dollars to get treatment, it still isn't enough. Clear Choice 4-in-One isn't a real option. Aren't there any affordable dentists/periodontists in N. California or even other states that will do an entire mouth with upper and lower implants and prosthedontics, including all scans, x-rays, abutments, bone grafts, etc. all inclusive for $40,000 or less?!!! And I don't mean mini-implants with O rings. I mean the tried and true traditional implants--at least 6 for an upper fixed denture. There must be some other options I haven't explored! At this point, I am going to have to opt for old fashioned dentures as opposed to the rip-offs which charge thousands of dollars and then have to be repaired later on. I thought Costa Rica looked good but it looks like they do the mini-implants with O ring, which certainly won't work for severe gum disease and bruxism. Any advice is welcome! I am in pain from these teeth! :-(

Default Consider 'dental' tourism ... overseas

I am not sure that when you get to read my reply whether or not you are actually still looking for advice.

If you are considering traveling from North Carolina to CA or Costa Rica, I would like to tell you that implants of high quality can be expertly done in several good hospitals in Thailand. I am referring to private hospitals which cater to foreigners and Thais with enough money to afford the work. On average, as of when I pen this, a quality implant (imported from South Korea, Denmark, etc.) can be done for $1500. (US) per tooth!

Thailand is very popular not only for medical tourism, but also for dental tourism, etc. If you would like more specific information, feel free to send me a message.
