MySpace To Open Office In San Francisco

Not too long ago, Wikimedia announced plans to move its headquarters to San Francisco. Google opened an office in the city. And now there’s word that MySpace will do likewise, only this last company is being rather secretive about it.
MySpace does intend to host a launch party, and of all places, reports indicate that the party will take place at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. (I wonder what the average MySpace member would make of that venue.) Prior to the party, though, MySpace isn’t sharing any details.
It’s only on October 17th that we’ll presumably find out if MySpace’s new place of residence can compare with Google’s by-the-Bay office. At that point, MySpace may also choose to make clear why it’s interested in San Francisco, although it probably has something to do with the local talent pool.
That’s mostly why Google made its expansion. Wikimedia, on the other hand, wanted to be closer to Asia, and given some recent headlines, it’s not impossible that this would also be a motivator for MySpace.
One more point of interest: Valleywag’s Megan McCarthy states that Rupert Murdoch will be in town for the MySpace party.

Wonder if they're hiring librarians? Seriously, I need a new job! Any word on where the office will be located?
