*** Edited -- I mean **WEST** side of Van Ness in the title ***

I found a bunch of apts on Franklin St. from below Geary down to almost Hayes. I'm wondering how bad is it at night as I'm coming back from (maybe walking / bike) office on Market x 9th? I know the east of Van Ness around that area is not great, but just wondering how much would overflow to the west of Van Ness. Should I take Franklin back or Van Ness?

Also on the west, there's also Fillmoore which is also not so great in some places from what I've heard. Would Franklin be far enough? I

I've been driving around all these areas at night (7pm - even 1am) and it doesn't seem that bad, but again this is a small samples..

I'd walk up Franklin, or even Gough. The latter skirts the edge of the Western Addition projects but its lower section is quite busy and thus a bit safer than Franklin, which is rather desolate.
