Next spring my wife and I will be in San Fran area for about 3-4 months and have a nice vintage Airstream. Hoping to find a nice backyard space to rent for it. It is pretty eco friendly with a composting toliet etc. Thinking about paying $300-$600 depending on the setup....

Any help, advice would be appreciated!

Most neighborhoods are limited regarding having parked RV's. Have you looked into the RV parks in the area?

You could put an ad in the "wanted" section on Craigslist and see if anyone bites.

Think it's a no go for any locations within city limits.

My brother attended CAL Berkeley and lived in a 5th wheel for 3.5 years...

It was very economical and he was able to sell the 5th wheel for what he had into to it...

He set it up on a ranch and I put in a private electric meter for his usage.

Was the ranch close? My brother is attending UC Berkeley and commuting 3 hours a day. It is really starting to wear on him. I am remodeling a 1978 Airstream and looking for a place he could stay on! Any assistance would be awesome! Thanks!

There are very few places where living in an RV or Trailer on a residential lot is allowed. Once place that it is fairly common is outside of Dixon, people owning a few acres frequently rent space to an RV or trailer. Yo might check Craigslist to see if there are any listings. The problem with rural parts of Dixon is that there are more flies than you have ever seen in your life.

Vacaville has an RV park outside the City limits, I think it's called the Vineyards, it's quite nice. Last I heard monthly space rent was around $600 but most of those places won't offer monthly rent to an older trailer no matter how nice.

Vallejo which has a few trailer parks that take RVs and small trailers on a monthly basis and a few years ago I heard that there is one in San Pablo but I have no idea what they are like, or what they charge.
