I realize the event is in Northern NV but most participants come from the Bay Area. Haven't been in a few years and enjoyed it when I did but am wondering if it's still considered worthwhile or played out.

I have no desire to ever go there since I'm guessing it would be like 10,000 of the most obnoxious, uptight hippies on Earth. And they'd all be on drugs.

No interest at all in a pseudo spiritual excess held in the desert and attended by druggies and misfits. I've seen people coming back from it. Their vehicles were filthy and they were too. If I wanted to spend my ntime in a like environment I could rejoin the military, go to the Middle East and maybe do something worthwhile.

Meh.

Strung out hippies in the middle of a desert, taking ecstacy and shrooms and acid and dressing like faeries and those blue things from that Avatar movie, wiggle-dancing on top of old Mad Max-style vans to impromptu five-hundred person drum circles doesn't sound like my idea of a good time.

I almost went once, but sold my ticket to someone else and used the money for a trip to Peru instead. Seems too cult like for me. And I really don't like the idea of giving up creature comforts in a windy desert where it can be really hot or really cold or both.

I can't even do the free hippie fests in Golden Gate Park, let alone pay money and drive hours to see it in Nevada.
