My next assignment could be around area Cupertino, CA 95014. I am currently in the east coast area.

I have been trying to decide on the move from east coast to west coast ; and the cost of living is major factor to make my mind about it.

What is rent range for 2 br +2 bath apartment in around that area with 30-40 minutes commute to office? I am hoping to stay in max budget of $1600 . Can share some areas ,for me to research further, with rents available in my range or it is a too low budget ? I am looking for safe area with options for play school , shopping and restaurants in the reasonable distance to home.

thanks in advance

You will need to increase your budget for a 2bed/2bath in Cupertino.

I'm with CCM on this one. Unless you find something dilapidated (and then, even so), your budget is far too low for Cupertino.

For a 2 bed/2 bath in Cupertino, the minimum is probably closer to $2400 and up, for something decent.

Yeah but 30-40 minute drive south/east on Highway 85, it should be doable.

$1600 is more what you'd pay for a one bedroom in this area...and even then that is a bit on the low end.

There are places that are listed in that range but unfortunately nowadays these places have landlords that will expect and require interested renters to bid up that prices and there is stiff competition and people who will be willing to pay $200, $300 or $400+ dollars more a month that what a place is listed for. It's sickening.
