There was a water leak in the bathroom. I reported it and it was repaired. Apparently it was not repaired correctly and there was a slow hidden leak that caused mold and damaged belongings. The repair was never inspected by the property management company. In the middle of all of this the owner changed to a different property management company.
Is the "landlord" liable? Is it reasonable and customary to inspect after a water leak is repaired?
Thank you

Did you let management know, in writing, that the leak still existed after the first repair?

Damage to your belongings is not normally the landlord's problem, and your contract probably says so. This is what rental insurance is for, even if the problem is not your fault.

I'm trying to imagine what types of property would have been damaged by water or mold that you wouldn't have noticed. Stuff under the sink?
