We just bought a home in Bradenton and plan to close early next month, however, we don't plan to move for at least a year and need recommendations on pool care, lawn care, pest control, and home cleaning. Any other recommendations you can give us are greatly appreciated! So excited for the future! Thanks, all.

your broker probably knows someone or company that can caretake your house for a very nominal fee. He should also be able to provide you with the names of whoever is doing the maintenance now. I wouldn't worry about home cleaning til you move down permanently.
Just find someone to take care of pool and lawn, which you can probably get for about $150/month or less. If the house is cbs you don't have to worry about pesst control.

Thank you. I do plan to get names from our realtor, but wanted your input as well. What is cbs?

cbs is cinder block & stucco.

When ours was built (recently), they treated all the wood framing in the interior walls with a termite deterrent, (it was colored greenish blue) so even the wood near the ground above the cement slab was treated.

Nothing's 100% safe, but after watching the process, I'm feeling pretty good about it.

I spray the perimeter with the same stuff the pros use, but I bought it at a do-it-yourselft pest control store who is licensed to sell pro grade chems directly to homeowners. Since you will not be there, I would hire pest control for treatments every other month, or so. Or at the least, an initial treatment right now, and then not again until you get down here.

Somebody MUST pour some Vinegar, or diluted bleach (1/2 cup will do) down your HVAC condensation drain pipe monthly to prevent any type of growth in the pipes that could create a water backup inside your home. Some systems have a water backup shutoff system, so your A/C will stop completely if it senses water in the drip pan, and after just a few days of no ac, mold spores can begin to grow due to the elevated humidity in the air. I'd do this right away since you have no idea of when it was last done.

Congratulations on your new home
Hope it gives you years of pleasure

You might check site called NextDoor online
It is basically a Facebook for neighborhoods
If your subdivision has created a portal, any homeowner can join w/validated address
Neighbors ask questions, post comments, and give recommendations
They also can start topics of general interest like response time for police/EMT or issues with garbage collections
Ours was very helpful during the hurricane last year--
We were in TX but people were involved in giving help when people they didn't know reached out on line
We were able to lend a pet crate to someone local--not in OUR neighborhood but another close on so she could take her dog to a shelter...

So see if your neighborhood is on NextDoor and once you can prove your ownership you might want to join
One aspect of the site is that there is map w/the members address/house pointed out
You can't use a faux identity as with some websites--which has +/- aspects but at least you know with whom you are communicating...
