Wow, thanks Lady! I've lived here for 11 years, but have always shared a nice meal at home with family & friends. This year, I'm going out! It's nice to have some options.

Hey Lady,

I don't know how you do it, but you always know where the parties are! You've proved yourself once again. Cool!
It is nice to have a friend that you can call to find out what is happening, and where.

What the heck is going on around here for New Year's Eve? Sarasota, Venice, PC, PG... any ideas are welcomed!
That`s a very good question. I live here in Venice and I`ve not found anything interesting. The papers have not had anything advertised either. I`m looking for dinner and dancing. One possible thought might be Visani`s in Port Charlotte. It`s supposed to be the best comedy club around with preety good food too. I don`t know if this helps but it`s worth a try.

Visani's does have dinner, a show, and dancing. We've decided on a small (?) pub crawl in PG. We'll start at either the Celtic Ray or Icehouse for some grub and a beer, then hit the other along with Moosehead's and the Tavern, maybe Cafe Ruelle. There's a new hotel that just opened (not sure of the name, but it's on 41 northbound close to the bridge). It's got a roof-top lounge & we're hoping to get up there for the fireworks that they'll set off from Fishermen's Village.

I wish I was going, my eyes start to glaze over, my words slur, and I begin crawling around about mid-night, so a PG crawl would be second nature to me. LOL Did the hotel open up?! That roof top lounge idea would make it a really fun night, and seeing the fireworks from there would be memorable.

LWAF,
Thank you for the post. We just had a vicious ice storm last week causing millions of dollars of damage, followed by a snowstorm today. Another one expected tomorrow.
We will be in SRQ just before New Years. Your post is most appreciated.

If you're going to be closing on New Years Eve, then I'd advise that both of you attend! I'd hit that roof top party afterward, what a celebration that'd be! I can picture the two of you on the roof looking at the fireworks over the harbor. You keep climbing over all the hurdles and pushing on. Are you going to be staying for a while and still returning for a longer stay in February?
