I'm looking to get pre-approved. Can anyone recommend a good mortgage agent at a local bank or mortgage company that is honest and who doesn't hit you with all kinds of sneaky fees and points? Thanks

What?! You must be joking! (just kidding)
The change policies and options all the time.
Everyone has their own preferences, and rates change all the time.
Each deal varies as well, if you buy a foreclosure usually the banks pay the title fees, because they want to control who the title company is.

That said, I used Bank of America, and used the No-Fee-Mortgage-Plus option. You still need to review everything carefully, SoFLGal was my agent, and did a great job for me, she also reviewed everything and found they were going to charge me somethings that they took off before closing! I still overpaid my insurance ( i needed to bring the policy at closing, so I paid for it in advance), and they did credit that back to me after closing. So although we had to watch things carefully, I got a good deal there.

These are complicated deals, so I advise you review things carefully, and use a good agent.

Good Luck! It sounds like you're getting close!

We used Liberty Bank to get our original mortgage (Lou Davis), but Wells Fargo bought it from them.
