Gas or electric heat?

Air conditioning for summer?

gas or electric dryer? hot water heater?

All-electric homes get a discount.

Garbarge pickup. Depends on the company and if you have weekly or twice weekly pickup. Also, will you roll it to the curb or will they have to pick it up at your back door? I have twice weekly, back door pick up, and it runs a little more than $50 per month.

I wish I could be more helpful, but as you can see, there are more varibles than just the size of the family.

Doesn't IOH have private trash collection? I've heard it's more expensive than others.

The City of Savannah has its own and the bill is tied to your water/sewage usage.

Cost of electricity will also depend on your comfort level and how you set your thermostat. This year was one of the hottest ever and my electric bill was 30% higher than last year in June and July.

Water can also be expensive if your family tends to bathe a lot or if you run an outdoor irrigation system.

What year was the home built...This will have the greatest impact on the utility bill from electric/gas...

If it is a older home look into spray foaming the attic and crawl space if their is one. Update the central air unit to a 14 or greater seer. This will cut over %60 from your bill and will pay for itself with 5 to 7 years...
