East of Truman/ North of Victory (Savannah, Gordon: rentals, houses, neighborhoods)

How is the areas East of Truman and North of Victory?

Specifically areas around Julliet Low park, and Victory Heights park.

I have found rentals in both neighborhoods and prices vary extremely which makes me wonder.......

Most of the rentals are a block or two off of skidaway in those areas.....

I was looking at a home on skidaway, close to the park. Me realtor advised me to keep looking, said she would not feel right putting my kids in that area.

There are pockets of good and pockets of bad. Mostly older homes. Check carefully.

The area you refer to is (mostly) the Gordonston neighborhood. There are indeed good and bad sections, but there are a lot of longtime residents who look out for each other with respect to criminal activity.

True, but you're also surrounded by terrible schools.

Gordonston forms only a very small portion of the area that is East of the Truman Parkway and north of Victory Drive. It is a very nice section.

I am not 100% sure about where Victory Heights is. If it is where I think it is, you might find a bargain there....but there are some sections that could be a little iffy. If the location is just a couple of blocks off of Skidaway, it could be in a busy small business area. Mostly small bungalow type houses that were built before WWII. Skidaway Road is heavy traffic just north of Victory. It's much better in the Gordonston area.

Unless you especially want that section of Savannah, I think you could do better.
