There isn't a doubt in my mind that SL lives across the street from Yamacraw projects, so NB is right... why complain about Pooler when you're concentrating about moving your neighbors?

The bright side SL . . at least you know we read your posts. lol

Just wondering. I did go through Pooler once earlier this year and yes it's growing fast. Now would be the time if they were going to create something of a central civic anchor like Forsyth. I wonder if they have any plans like this. Anyway I mostly shop and dine southside but I will definitely visit if an IKEA opens one day!!

Funny you should talk about a park. Pooler did just make a strange park between the on ramp to Pooler Parkway and route 80. It has a lovely pond, lighting, a nice big flagpole, a historic caboose and a sidewalk all around the pond. Lots of trees planted too. It must have been expensive.
What I can't figure out is who do they think will use it? There is no parking, so if, let's say, a mother wanted to push her child around the pond, or feed the possible future ducks, she'd need to park at BiLo and cross the highway to get to it.

SL ... that's been discussed in the other Pooler thread of late. The new City Hall is planned to be the centerpice of a "new" downtown. You should drive out and take a look. Very impresssve!

Not sure what you mean by downtown, but if you mean the area around the city hall, there are a lot of small changes going on there, and I think there is a focus on growing and improving it. The new complex has already started to generate new businesses around it. I live on this side of Pooler so I see the changes, where someone passing by might not. There is also a lot of house flipping going on in the residential areas behind the post office, which is very healthy too.

Two big issues in that area that the city really doesn't have control over, are the dismal library, and the woefully inadequate post office. I hear they are working on a new post office location. Also, Pooler elementary is an armpit, compared to Godley Station, so that will keep young families from moving to this side of Pooler.
