It's been amazing to see all of the growth happening at Savannah's Airport.

Quote:
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport welcomed 236,923 passengers in May, breaking last month’s record for April of 223,402 and setting an all-time record as the busiest month in SAV history.

After posting its best ever passenger numbers in 2016, the airport is on track to topple that statistic this year, with nearly 1 million passengers through May.

Airport executive director Greg Kelly credited additional flight options from seven airlines for the passenger growth, as the airport reported a 15-percent gain in the number of available seats in May.

Not that I'm aware of, but it would be interesting to see a breakdown of where people go when they fly into the airport.

The airport keeps those numbers and publishes them from time to time. I think about 40 percent of SAV travelers are bound for HHI.

They need more fast food options. BK doesn't cut it alone.

I have to admit that compared to some other airports, as you all probably know, one in Savannah is surprisingly small. Flew in a few weeks ago... It did not seem crowded to me. I guess it kind of reminded me of the airport in Richmond, VA.

It's exactly the way I like it and pray to God it doesn't change! I am so fed up with the likes of LGA, JFK, and all the rest of the "majors".

Compared to Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas or LA ... yes! But compared to most any other city in the nation the size of Savannah (and even many cities much larger) our airport is exceptional and quite busy!

SAVANNAH: Metro population 400,000
AIRLINES: 7
DESTINATIONS: 23 (one international)

BIRMINGHAM: Metro population 1.2 million
AIRLINES: 4
DESTINATIONS: 15 (no international)
