I’m sad for them. Water your Christmas trees, people! I’m sure they are well insured, though.

I second GentleHearts: NEVER. Just the smell of the real thing is enough for me. I also hated my parents' artificial tree (green and fake). They refused "to spend good money on a real tree that'll go directly to the trash in two weeks, and this tree is just as beautiful." Like hell it was.

Whatever. Enjoy the sap, the needles, the seemingly endless string of lights, the sagging limbs, the unsustainability. Glade makes tree scents.
Your parents were brilliant. You should have listened to them.

Christmas trees are grown like any other crop, so your unsustainability argument doesn’t work. I believe it’s way more eco friendly to use a real tree, which is ground up for mulch, than some prickly stick of plastic.

Anyway, I wish you and your ugly tree, a happy new year.
