Looks like the era of robotic prison guards is now among us as South Korea is set to deploy these at one of it's prisons starting in march 2012. They insist that they will not be armed (sure .lol.) and will instead help out on night patrols checking for prison escapes and assisting with suicidal prisoners etc. and they'll have the capacity to interact with prisoners one on one if need be.
My question is how soon will we see these in the USA and not just for jails/prisons but also as security guards or even cops? e.g. Star Wars, RoboCop, Judge Dredd etc.
All I can think about is the animated show i saw, cant remember if it was family guy or something like that. They had a patrol robot in school. Some girl was walking and it sayd
"Show me your hall pass"
She shows her hall pass
"Show me your hall pass, you have 3 seconds to comply"
She shows it again. It shoots her with a machine gun
Lol ... lets hope that maybe they'll be more like ''Hymie the Robot'' in the 60's 'Get Smart' television series
