We own a rambler in Shoreline and would like to convert the room above the garage to a bedroom with a 3/4 bath. We would also like to redo our small kitchen. Its been hard to get ahold of any contractors, I've been mostly using Angieslist for my search. We are in no time crunch but it would be nice to have everything completed by the start of next summer. The bedroom addition would be relatively small, roughly 200 sq feet and the kitchen is pretty small as well but we want things done correctly and built to last.

Does anyone have any recommendations for contractors or architects?

Thanks

You may want to join the NextDoor app, and inquire for contractors there. You may get other recommendations for people who are in your neighborhood.

Every good contractor I know is super busy and booked many months out right now. Probably best to ask friends of friends and see if someone will do you a favor. Sometimes, if you are flexible with your needs and allow contractor to work when they have time, they will be more receptive.

It took us 9 months to get our job scheduled. Fortunately once we got on the calendar - we stayed on schedule, but boy are things booked up!

We are doing exactly that. When our contractor has some spare time, he calls and asks if he can work the next day. Obviously, you need to be extremely flexible.

We are flexible with our schedule, no rush. I've tried nextdoor but no solid recommendations. I've had one contractor out so far but I would like to have three bids.
