Here we go. Arctic vortex have reached NorthWest. And city authorities do not care a damn about cleaning up roads from snow. Even if the main streets are cleared somehow, the small ones are absolutely ignored. Is somebody tried to reach SDOT about that?

That's ridiculous. If anything they should just key in on the hilly streets. If they dont have the equipment, there's a ton of people that have trucks and plows that plow for money.

Why not? Hilly streets residents pay property taxes and other taxes too.

Our cities don't have huge fleets of snow removal machines, nor should they. Snow here is short term. The main roads get done... don't count on it in secondary areas. Stock up, hunker down, and wait it out.

Called them. They put our street on queue. Probably will never come up.

We don't have a lot of snow plows here. We don't get snow often enough to justify the purchase.

You don't budget for major snowfall events when they rarely occur.

Further, this is not part of the "Polar Vortex". It is a normal pattern that occurs every 3-5 years from the Fraser Valley in British Columbia.

Put your boots on and walk to the nearest bus stop on a plowed street. Think twice before you vote against the next transit measure because you think you won't need it.
