The state senate has passed a bill for a state capital gains tax. Thoughts?

Suspect this will raise enough money to cover the $650 million in unemployment fraud

My state Senator tells us that we have a regressive tax system that needs to be fixed.

So, when the state is collecting this money from the wealthy people, how much will the sales tax go down so as to lighten the burden on the lower income people?

None. Again, Washington has never met a tax it didn’t like. Anyone remember the super high tax on liquor a decade ago that was promised to gradually go down? Somebody can correct me, but I don’t believe that has occurred. WA has the highest liquor tax in the country, and 2nd place isn’t even close.

It’s going to go through court challenges and a referendum before anything is decided.

So, we fix over taxation of low income people by taxing rich people more. But, wer don't lower things like the sales tax for low income people. Hmm.. How does that lower the tax burden for low income people? Perhaps somebody can explain that to me.
