Hey guys - I'll be heading out to Seattle to a concert at the Gorge and would like a good place to stay the night before we head out there. We'll want to go out downtown, but would rather save some cash on this and just take a cab downtown or something. Any recommendations?

For reasonable and clean, but plain, try Sleep Inn at the Airport. (are you flying in to Seattle?) Roughly $100/night. Next to the airport, good if you are flying in, bit out of the way otherwise.

We stayed at Hotel Deca downtown in the U district awhile back, it's nice, but a bit spendy at $300/night.

A few recommendations for something affordable:

Springhill Suites in Renton, College Inn in the University District (Seattle), Hotel Seattle (Downtown) and for real cheap, the Motel Italia ( Seattle) and the Marco Polo...The Italia and the Marco polo are just over the Aurora Bridge around Fremont...

Another vote for the Sleep Inn at the airport. Nice digs.

I would try Priceline. I got the four-star downtown Westin Seattle for 2 nights for only $125 per night for my stay at the end of August by naming my own price...
