And one has to question if the mom 'claimed' the kid purchased the sofa . . . or was it truly mom and she just wanted her money back?

Oh, I don’t doubt it was the kid. My 3 yr old granddaughter ordered herself a movie on my amazon prime from her mom’s phone. She knew the passcode to both...kids aren’t stupid they watch everything! Yes, passcodes have been changed.

This the above case, it does not matter whose ordered it; it can be returned or the order can be cancelled.

If one has small children one should disable the one click ordering button. And yes, amazon takes returns so this isn't newsworthy.

Simple solution: take the phone away from the kid. Problem solved.

I don't see why this is news.

I've "butt-ordered" stuff from Amazon too. Just I get an email, and the ability to cancel the order before it even ships.

Not always. If it ships from a third party Amazon seller they may not take it back or charge you a restocking charge plus shipping charges back. However; these things don't ship overnight so she had to have received an email that confirmed her order well within the cancellation time frame. She needed to pay better attention to her emails.

This!!! They'll be addicted soon enough, why encourage it at such a young ago. Perhaps some adults think it's 'cute' and want to boast about their munchkin having the ability to use technology that young.

Let them just be kids!

My autistic son once got on my phone & ordered a pepperoni pizza when I went to pay for gas at a station next to a pizza joint.

He was 10 & functionally non-verbal but they had a sign up with their phone number on it & somehow he got it done. Never underestimate the power of pizza, I suppose.

I realized when I got back in the car that my phone wasn’t in my purse anymore & saw it in his hand with the number still on the screen so I called them back & sure enough ... we had to pick up a pizza.
